Dear Readers,
`Never believe that you are so divine that it is impossible to improve upon your own works´. Nowadays, this quote from Ludwig van Beethoven could serve as a guiding principle
for European industry. Despite relatively healthy trading conditions and economic growth of around 2.6 percent, European business is not resting on its laurels, and companies operating with foresight are performing significantly better than the rest of the bunch.
But what economic trends can we expect in the globalised future? Which corporate practices have stood the test of time in recent years? And what new techniques and insights will the scientific community be able contribute to business? These issues were discussed by the distinguished members of the Programme Committee at the Supply Chain Days. Next year, the leading supply-chain management conference will not only provide a platform for discussion, but will also offer valuable inspiration for practical initiatives. So make a note of the 4th and 5th July 2008. That is, if you are interested in improving on your `own works´.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a successful 2008!
Dr. Andreas Müller
Chairman of the Management Board and Marketing/PR Director
