Dear Readers,
Over 372 years ago the Great Tulip Mania in the Netherlands led to the first financial collapse of the modern age. Today we find ourselves faced with an even more dramatic crisis.
Companies do not have the benefit of a magic formula which shows them how to set themselves up in order to cope with the current turmoil. They are in any case well-advised to reduce costs quickly, safeguard liquidity and secure future ability to deliver. Organisations that use the momentum created to refocus their business will enjoy lasting success. You can read more about the J&M Business Optimisation Programme in this edition of J&M Spotlight.
Incidentally, despite the fact that 1637 saw some Dutchmen speculate themselves into tulip bulb ruin, it also resulted in the mass production which has seen the Netherlands become and remain the world’s leading tulip grower.
I hope you enjoy reading the latest publication.
